SEE MY WORK AT ART UP FRONT STREET. 120 FRONT STREET IN UPTOWN EXETER, NH

art up front street

hello art friends, this is what's been in the works...

my husband, Mal, and I have purchased the building at 120 front street. it was most recently the New Heights Teen Center, just before that... New Outlook Teen Center, before that the 120 Deli and Market/Laundromat, and before that in the early 1900's Poggio's Market. I will elaborate on all of those at some point.... because the ties to community with this building mean a lot to us.

we have, with the help of MANY, turned the bottom floor and basement into an artists' collective of studios and work spaces. my studio is there. mal's computer business is there... and we have three fabulous artist friends who are moving in this January.... Deb Wheeler-Bean, Dawn Amey, and Gaby Grossman. there are 4 more studios available at this writing.

there is an application process for studio space... our goal with this adventure is to maintain a collaborative effort for all of our art businesses and MOST importantly to be a nurturing space for creative energy.

there will be a few shows a year. we will have gallery hours. we will have "salons" and demos and a podcast or two. there is parking, a kitchen, and a back yard..... we really look forward to sharing it with you.

for more info about our vision, the building and studio rentals, click art up front street.

thank you to all who have been so enthusiastic over the years...  we look forward to making many memories with you in this new space. :-)

Art Up Front Street... coming January 2017

Well THAT was a good year of "tinkering". We are now embracing an art opportunity that has only been a dream until now.... but actually, as I think about it more, we will probably continue to dream (thank goodness) while we put the ideas together for quite a few years. The process will be organic for sure. Don't expect a grand opening :-).... just a growing collaboration of like minds. Oh, and of course there will be a party or two. Happy Holidays, everyone. see you in2017.

There's some tinkering going on.

The "studio" is getting a re-do.... so our wheels are not in motion for the 2016 Mother's Day event or for in-studio showings. Please, stop in downtown at The Willow to see my work. Happy spring and glorious summer, everyone! I will update you in the fall.

This weekend...A self-guided tour of artisans, makers, and New Hampshire businesses?

The person that keeps things running here :-). Ashley Platt, thank you!
Yes!... the weekend is almost here... and we are looking forward to seeing people from all over the state (and beyond) for New Hampshire Open Doors. I am participating in the Seacoast Fine Art and Sugar Tour... one of several self-guided tours in the event. Lori Martone Pottery and I will be side by side on String Bridge (well... actually indoors in the mustard colored building :-) ) in Exeter   ...Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 10-5, this Nov 7+8.
Other fabulous artists (and humans) on this tour are Bruce Jones, Sandy McDermott, Heather Crowley, Norma Torti, and Barbara Mata. Paintings, pottery, watercolors, cards and creativity to make your soul say thank you. The "sugar" on our tour can be found at Brad Rice's Willow Creek Sugarhouse... what a nice combination of makers. Grab a friend and check out the New Hampshire back roads, artisans, and cafes...   See you soon!

On String Bridge for New Hampshire Open Doors

Join us for this statewide event! This year I will be "on the rocks" (well, near them, safe and snug in the mustard colored building) on String Bridge. Lori Martone Pottery is right next door. All of my color will be HERE this year NOT at my Union Street studio. November 7 and 8... See you soon :-)
