SOLD, "Along the River", 18x36, abstract landscape.
Thank you to Kathy for falling in love. That is the best way I can describe what happened.
Kathy came in to the studio (for the first time) with a friend who has been here several times.
She told me how much she related to art the friend had purchased and began to walk the gallery and studio. She found this painting and said she wanted to purchase it. Then told me something that I almost didn't know what to do with.
She said, very directly, she only buys things she loves. And that she has had an empty wall in her kitchen for five years and ...this was going there.
Part of what I am always amazed with is the connection and attraction by someone else to the marks that come from my heart and hand. There is "something" in this color and imagery that she relates to. Something that means quite a bit to her for her to decide that "this" is "the piece" for her home. I am constantly warmed by the words of viewers.
Of course I move in these circles of color because I love creating this work. It brings me to a meditative spot. I love the exploration. But then when someone else sees it, and has a connection, I can't claim that spot anymore. It goes to another place. I am grateful for the moment I have had to invent or to build or to be consummed by the flow of the process.
Now...it is someone else's story and energy.
What is this that I am feeling? I can't explain.
Thank you Kathy. I hope you enjoy this painting for years to come.
